Jay Michaels Harp

Jay Michaels, known for his mastery of both historical and modern harps, is an acclaimed harpist celebrated for his intimate performances spanning Celtic, Renaissance, Medieval, and ambient music.  In addition to the Harp, he is adept at the Viola da Gamba, Dulcimer, and Guitar. Based in Southeastern Massachusetts, Michaels is renowned not only for his solo work but also for co-founding The Harper and The Minstrel, a duo that performs traditional Celtic, Medieval, Renaissance, and original music.

His harp work has been featured on major television series, including Daredevil, Parenthood, and Nashville, as well as in various independent films.

Jay is a member of the Historical Harp Society of Ireland. He is the former President of the Historical Harp Society in the United States. He is also a member of Early Music America and The Viola da Gamba Society. 

Jay Michaels has performed in many parts of America at Medieval, Renaissance, Celtic, Folk, and Yoga Festivals. In November 2023, he performed in Waterford and Cork, Ireland. In May of 2026, he returned to Ireland to share his Harp music in Dublin, Galway, Kinvara, and Dingle.
